Look Out Cannibals!

“When the fish were opened, I saw smaller fish taken out of their stomachs; then thought I, ‘If you eat one another, I don’t see why we mayn’t eat you.’…So convenient a thing it is to be a reasonable creature, since it enables one to find or make a reason for everything one has a mind to do.”

– Benjamin Franklin (died 1790)

Dr. Dread

Here’s a new brief interview Katie Mavrich did with me about horror fiction, for the harvest time issue of At Home with Jennifer magazine: “Dr. Dread: Seton Hill University Has its Own Professor of Horror”.

Speaking of SHU, here’s a breaking news press release they just sent to the media about my audiobook, Audiovile — it includes a list of public events in October and November where you can pick up a copy of the CD or hear me perform live.

“The Scab” wins Best Animated Horror Short “Witchy” Award

Jim Minton’s film adaptation of my poem, “The Scab,” just won the 2007 Tabloid Witch Award for Best Animated Short Film. CONGRATULATIONS, Jim!

“The Scab” is Minton’s stunning vision of the poem originally published in the book, Freakcidents, which appeared in the anthology film that Minton also produced, Exquisite Corpse.

Exquisite Corpse recently screened at Context SF Convention in Ohio and the Antimatter Underground Arts Festival in Canada, among other film fests worldwide.
