HI Mike: I just came upon this blog post. I noticed that in this week's 30 Rock, Jack met his alternate reality more successful self, then his 1980's self, then his far future self who told him to forget about all that success stuff, it's B.S. In effect, he met his doppelgangers. Talk about the Uncanny...

It's shocking how readily people will identify something as "intellectual" for just touching on an complex subject. 30 Rock's formula mobilizes tracing-paper light plots, cartoonishly shallow characters, and a high density of reference humor. While it's more wit-heavy than the main offenders, Family Guy or Robot Chicken, it's in the same cultural arena: quantity over quality. To call that "genius," simply because one of it's dozens of jokes per act has inspired some thought, is like saying a kid playing battleship is genius because 'he sunk a Cruiser without even knowing where it is!'
